A little play time...

Hi everyone.... I've been having a little play with some of the new Madame Payraud papers from the current Do Crafts promotion....
They have an almost "Alchemy" feel to them, but the projects I have created with them are anything but!!!

I've teamed them up with some Mica Powders! But alas, my photography skills are nowhere near as good as my crafting skills, so you can't really see much of the Mica, but I assure you, it’s there! And it’s really changed the mood of the papers!! from what they started out as, to what the projects finished up like!!

To apply the Mica Powders, I sprayed one side of a piece of Acetate with some Stick and Stay spray adhesive.

Then applied my choice of Mica Powders with a soft brush...

I then sprayed a piece of paper from the Madame Payraud range with Stick and Stay

and laid the Acetate over it, Mica Powder side down. This way, the Mica is encapsulated (ooohh big word!!) between the Acetate and the paper and therefore will not rub off....
Changes the paper subtly but effectively don't you think?!

This was them matt and layered onto a piece of Copper Mirror card....

Next, I took two cards from the Madame Payraud Labels collection, and applied Mica Powders and Acetate as before so they tied in with the project.

These were then positioned onto the project.

Finishing off with some complementary Butterflies also from the Madame Payraud range...

The effect of the Acetate on the front of the project gives a sealed even glazed effect, but is a sod to photograph!!

I also competed one in Blue, just for fun!!!!
I knew I would love working with these papers the moment I clapped my crafty eyes on them, and they haven't disappointed!!! More play time me thinks...
P.S The photographs really do not do the projects justice.. Next time you're in the shop, take a look see.. You won't be disappointed!!
Thanks for checking us out.
See you soon.
Andy.

  1. Great cards Andy and I can confirm for folk that the colours of the pieces that you were playing with at the weekend looked wonderful - such a super effect using the mica & acetate.
