Unfortunately the Martha Stewart Score Board is no more!... It has been withdrawn in the UK due to a patent issue! Now, I know many of us have one so I wanted to share a project using either the MS Score Board or the new hot product on the block, "The Hougie Board"!!
They both work in a similar way, but the Hougie has measurements in Centimetres too...
Take an A4 piece of card stock and cut it to 28cm (11inch) in length. Then make a score line across the centre, basically dividing the piece of card in two. Then score a line at 3cm, 6cm, 10cm & 21cm to the score line across the card. Also score a line at 14cm but this time score from the top of the card, through the centre score line to the bottom of the card stock.Then make a cut with a craft knife form the 3cm line to the 21cm line.
Once you have completed all of the score lines and cuts, put your card together like this.
So here we are with the above measurements completed onto some Gold Mirror card.
I then cut pieces of pattered card stock to place into sections of the scored card stock. I prefer to add the patterned card stock whilst the base card is still flat, just makes it a bit easier.
Fold the card into shape.
I then took some patterned paper and an embossing flower punch.
To make sure that the punch embosses then turn your paper over, otherwise it will deboss...
I cut out several flowers
and also some leaves using the MS Branch and Frond punch using Black Mirror card.
And stuck one of each element together.
Applied them to my project.
Completing the project with a complementary Butterfly from the Elements range from the current Do Crafts promotion..I think you'll agree, it's a real opulent card and to be honest very easy once you have grasped the measurements, so easy in fact they I have been churning them out left, right and centre...
Here's a sneaky peak at a couple of other ones I have made,
they'll be on display at our "Christmas in July" event on the 17th & 18th so you will be able to look at then in their full glory then, but I will put them on here in a few weeks for everyone to see when I really start to hit Christmas with a vengeance..I hope you like the samples and it gives you the inspiration to give this great folding technique a go regardless of what board you might have!
