Hey Blogland.. Today's project is another one for the Cuttlebug Spot. This weeks Design Team theme was - Inspiration from a song!!.. My music taste is very, very eclectic so I found inspiration quite easy.. It's not always like that, I assure you.
The song I chose was from an Alternative Rock Band from Australia called The Temper Trap. The title of the song is Sweet Disposition. Followers in the UK may have heard this song on the latest Centre Parcs advert on TV. It has also been used in adverts all over the world and featured in the film (500) Day's of Summer which was released in 2009... I have given you a link to their video on You Tube. Please, at least listen to it all the way through once, even if it is not your cup of tea. I bet you will be hooked!! I am listening to it as I type and have it on loop... "Sweet disposition, never too soon, oh reckless abandon, like no ones watching you"........ LOVE IT!!! Anyway, enough of my music tastes, one of my friends actually wrote on my Facebook page, "Andy's taste in music - "Mostly rubbish, some good, but mostly rubbish!" although she didn't use the word rubbish, if you know where I'm coming from!So here is the card I made with the idea of Sweet Disposition in mind. Oh, just wanted to point out to those who don't know what Disposition means. I had to look it up!! LOL... It means natured, character, temperament.. I.E If you have a Sweet Disposition, you are Sweet Natured.. So why not just call the song Sweet Natured!! Yeah I thought that too, guess they couldn't get the words to fit!! Enough with the English lesson, on with the show...I started off with my Cupcake Embossing Folder which is part of the new Cupcake range from Do Crafts.Popped in some thick Acetate, passed it through the Cuttlebugto emboss the image.Between Christmas and the New Year I was having a bit of a clear out and came across some Lacquer Pens that I had forgotten I had! So I thought I would use them on this project. They have a Gel inside them that dries raised and smooth. So I added Purple for my frosting,Red and Green for my Strawberries and a Gold for the Cupcake case, although I agree with you it looks a lot more like Custard at the moment, but they do dry clear. The Gold even had Glitter in it too. This takes a couple of hours to dry, depending on how thick you apply the Gel.So whilst this was drying I prepared my Stepper card (instructions can be found here). Now dry I added some Yellow Gems as seeds for the Strawberries, matted a piece of Silver Mirror card onto the largest panel of the Stepper card and stuck the Cupcake to it.I then popped out some Die Cut Cupcake images and layered them togetherbefore applying them to the card.Adding some Cupcake buttons to the back panel to continue the theme throughout the card.Lastly printing my sentiment from my PC, matting and layering it in matching card stockand attaching it to the card.
So there you go, inspiration from a song!! Don't forget to pop on over to the Cuttlebug Spot to see what all the other Design Team Members have come up with.. I'm getting to know these guys pretty well, but would have no idea what their musical tastes are, so I'm keen to find out...
Enjoy your day and thanks for checking us out.
See you soon, Andy.
