Lucky 7!

Hi Blogland. Well, we are officially 7 years old.. The shop that is not me personally, although some might say I act like it sometimes,!! I'd firstly just like to say a great big thank you to everyone for all of your warm wishes, cards & gifts that we received as part of our 7th Birthday celebrations here at Pinnacles.. I'd also like to say another heartfelt thank you to Lyn, Lin & Renne for their help in getting us through yet another Pinnacles Spectacular!! Thank you ladies. xx
It was lovely to see so many of you on Saturday taking advantage of our Birthday Scrapbooking sale, you certainly cleaned us out again! I hope you all enjoy using your new stash!!
Although the build up to the sale and the sale day itself were quite hectic, I did find time to get a little crafting done..As most of you are probably aware, September saw the start of the current Do Crafts Promotion.. This one is packed full of even more bits and bobs that we never realised we needed!!This was one of the first things that caught my eye. A Stamp set from the Henbury Lane, Poinsettia Collection. So many stamps and at a great price too!....I stamped the Baubles image onto White card stockand selected some Copics (Cardinal, Carmine, Strong Red & Pea Green) to colour them in with.Starting off with Carmine, adding a coat of Cardinal, then colouring the Holly Leaves with Pea Greenand finishing off with Strong Red for the Berries.Covering the whole image with some Glossy Accents.Be careful when you put your project to one side to dry, make sure it is on a flat surface, as the Glossy Accents might run!! ooopss!!!I did the above process twice, and yes they both ran, but as I was going to cut the images out it didn't cause too much of a problem! To tie the project together I used a Steel Stencil also from the HL Poinsettia range (Baubles). These stencils work perfectly through the Cuttlebug or Big Shot machines, just make sure you use your tan mat so that you get the image to emboss, mmm can't see much here, perhaps some ink will help?and maybe a little bit more to really bring the image to life!!I then matted the embossed image firstly onto some black, then red Mirror card.Meanwhile I prepared my base card, matting the base Red card stock with some Red & Black Mirror card, adding a piece of Red Ribbon down the centre. Before applying the Inked Embossed image and my previously coloured and glazed heart shaped baubles...
It's quite a bold card with the colours used, but really effective in the flesh...
Thanks for checking us out.
See you soon
Andy.

  5. Another beautiful project! I have glossy accents and have always been afraid to use them. As you are getting me in the Christmas mood, I better begin practicing using them. Would love to make cards as beautiful as yours.
