Blog Candy Winner!!!

Happy October everyone! It's the 1st of the Month and that means... our Live, Love, Laugh, Craft, Blog Candy draw... and the winner is... Linda Ingram.. Well done Linda, just contact us at the shop (01268 285585 pinncras@btconnect.com) so that we can arrange collection or delivery of your new stash!!
Linda has won a fantastic 12" x 12" Designer paper pack featuring scenes from the classic Christmas film "The Snowman" you know the "walking in the air " one!, oooppps, I bet that song will be ringing in your ears all day now.. sorry...
She has also won the Brand New Cuttlebug Seasonal Embossing Folders. these include Season's Greetings, Christmas Countdown, Candy Cane Stripe, Holly Ribbons, Winter Trees and a New Embossing Border Set called Winter Borders.. So Well Done again Linda..

One of my Birthday cards last week had me and my friends in stitches, well they said they were laughing with me but I still suspect they were laughing AT me!
My friend Louise gave me the card above.. Reading the greeting on the front of the card I then tried to open it, obviously going for the right hand side.. But, as you have probably guessed, the card actually opens from the left, which ties in with the statement on the front of the card... Yes I did look silly!!!
I stated there and then that I must try and recreate it, so here is my version.. This is a great idea for the times I have put paper or embellishments on upside down or backwards and not realised until the card is finished... Hands up who's done the same???

Starting off with a 12" x 12" piece of Glossy card stock, I randomly covered it with some Alcohol Inks. As we are now in October I decided to go with a more Autumnal theme so I used Lettuce, Caramel, Sunset Orange, Meadow, Rust, Red Pepper & Currant. I applied them randomly using the felt applicator, and then went over the whole sheet with the Blending Solution to blend and soften the effect.
I then cut out some leaf shapes from a Shapeabilitie die. I loved the effect of each leaf once cut, mirroring the Autumn colours...
As I had a small piece of the Alcohol Inked card stock left I wanted to use it in some way. We had a delivery of the New Papermania Brad Making sets last week so I thought I'd try and incorporate these into the project. Firstly I punched large circles from the card, but found that once attached to the brads they were far to big for the card, so I opted for the smallest punch.. I think this is a great idea, as you can't always find the right colour brads for your project, well now you can make them.. Cool eh?
I attached the brads to some complementary card from Kanban (African Gold CRD9006) and then mounted it onto an 8" x 8" card, REMEMBER the crease of the base card should be on the right, not the left!
I then randomly attached my leaves to the card.
Next step was to cut out the Monkey.. I chose to use a character from my
Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge, the only thing I added were some googly eyes.. I attached him to the card and then printed a sentiment from my PC..
I have tested the card on all the family and got each and everyone of them, so why not try making your next card backwards and put a smile on someones face..
Thanks for checking us out, see you soon..
