Mother's Day

Hi folks. It's another Cuttlebug Blog Spot challenge today. Come round quick don't they!?
With Mother's Day here in the UK on the 18th March, this weeks challenge incorporates that theme but with the addition of some stitching, either real or faux! Either way it's not really my kind of thing. I guess we all have a certain style and although that said, these challenges really get you to explore things that you might not have tried before. So, here is my Design Team entry.. Not a real stitch in sight.
I've said it once and I'll say it again! You know when you just have that right piece of paper for that project..Well.... Need I say more? This was a piece of fabric paper from the current Do Crafts promotion. It's from the Boofle range of products.. As you can see, it's all faux stitched pieces of fabric.. How apt for this week’s challenge!!I cut out a piece of the card stock using a die from the Spellbinders Grand Labels One.Using another piece of the 12" x 12" card stock I made my base card. It wasn't until I was getting ready to mount the Labels One shape onto the base card that I noticed that the pattern very nearly matched! So, I lined up the images which matched exactly and you can still see the design of the Spellbinders Die through the image..For my topper I used a digi image from Sassy Studio Designs. She was printed, coloured and glazed with Glossy Accentsbefore being mounted onto my base card. For my sentiment, I printed my text from my PC using a....... stitch font of course.Mounting it onto some backing card, and continuing the stitching theme by adding some faux stitching. And there you go. Far from a traditional Mother's Day card I agree, but Mum's come in all shapes and sizes... and ages.. So, this would be great for a new young Mum.
Hop on over to the Cuttlebug Blog Spot to see what my fellow Design Team members have created with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for checking us out.
See you soon.
Andy.
