Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone. Today is Mother's Day. Well, here in the UK anyway. So I just thought I'd pop into blogland and share with you the card I made for my Mum..It was a bit of a rush job and I only finished it at lunchtime today.. Why do I always do it? I know when Mother's Day is, but I guess if it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done!!
That said, I'm really pleased with the finished effect and I'm glad I stuck with my original colour choice..
Here's a step by step for you..I started off by cutting out the largest shape from the Spellbinders Floral Ovals (S4-356) die set using the new Hunkydory Adorable Scoreable card stock in a Mint Green Colour.I then cut out the largest shape from Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large (S4-110) in my patterned card stockand layered it inside the Floral Ovals shape. Love how these newer Spellbinders are set to co ordinate with some of our original dies.I then went around the edge of the shape with individual gems. You may think that this was a task and a half, but it is a card for a special occasion and really didn't take too long at all to do!Next, I cut out the female Cameo from the Marianne Creatables Die called Lord and Lady (LR0211),and mounted it into my prepared frame. This was then added to my prepared base card.To add a bit of interest and to provide a stopper for my Easel card I cut out some "leafy swirls" using the Cheery Lynn Die Fanciful Flourish (BL117)and placed them onto the card. For my sentiment plate, I cut out the second largest die from the Floral Ovals Set and the second largest die from the Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small (S4-112) set, layering them together and then went around the edge with some more gemsadding it to the card with my sentimentto complete my project.
I hope all you Mum's out there have enjoyed your Mother's Day and thanks for checking us out.
See you soon.
Andy.
