One for the boys!!

Hey blogland.. It's all too easy to do cards for female friends and relatives, but when it comes to us guys, even I struggle... That said, there are a lot more images and products around now than there ever used to be, so it is getting slightly easier...For this card I used a digi stamp from Mo Manning..It was coloured with Copic Pens and Glazed with Glossy Accents.Whilst it was drying I had a play with my Cricut Machine and Gypsy and welded some Mobile (Cell) Phone shapes from the Smiley Cards cartridge to a Rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook and cut them out on some Silver Mirror card.Once the image was dry I matted it onto the rectangle and added some Black Mobile Phone shapes to make them stand out a little more..After matting one more time onto some light Blue card stockI attached the image to my base card.I then cut out a tag using a die from the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Three (S4-323) set.Added a peel off sentimentand then threaded some ribbon through the loops before adding it to the card to finish the project off.So, just an idea for some of the younger guy's in your life..

Dance like no one's watching part 2

Hi Blogland... I hope you had a good weekend...
Today I wanted to share with your another monochromatic project. In my last post I did Black and White,and today I'm doing White and Black...I cut out my shape using the Marianne Creatables die Doily Circle (LR0168) in some pearlised Black card stock. I also cut out the Marianne Creatables Ballerina 1 (LR0165) in some White card stock.I prepared my base card by cutting a piece of White card stock 5" x 5" and punching around it using the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set Bubble Bath...I added a matt of Blackand then White card stock to the centre of the squarebefore adding it to my base card.I then added the doily circleand the Ballerina image...Very difficult to choose a favorite between the two.. I'll leave that up to you...

Hi everyone... I think most people like monochromatic looking project, so over the next couple of posts I'll be sharing with you a couple I have made... Monochromatic can be tint, tone or shade of the same colour.. So don't limit yourself to just Black and White..That said, I did!!!I cut my frame shape using the Marianne Creatables die Doily Square (LR0169) in some White card stock through the Cuttlebug. I then cut in Black Mirror card the Marianne Creatables Ballerina 2 (LR0166).These were put to one side whilst I prepared my base card.I cut a square of Black Mirror card 5" x 5" and punched around the card using the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set French Scroll.I added a square of White card stock,and then another layer of the Black Mirror cardbefore applying it to my base card.Applied the framefollowed by the Ballerina..Black and White is such a striking contrast in colour, what would it look like in White and Black?? Silhouette Embossing....

Hi everyone. How's things?I wanted to share with you today another home made embossing template I have made.. And don't worry, this one doesn't require a Cricut Machine this time....!I cut out 4 silhouettes using the Marianne Creatables Die Elegant Lady (LR0139) using 225gsm weight card stock.Then layered each shape on top of each other, gluing them together with Crafter's Companion Stick & Stay...
This image is, I suspect designed just to be cut out and stuck on to a project.. But, you know me, I like to take things a little further and help us all get the most out of our crafting stash!!So, I fancied embossing the silhouette.... To do this through the Cuttlebug, place the layered image directly on to your A plate...Add your card stock,followed by your No Shims Matand then 2 pieces of card stock to bulk out the "sandwich",finally finishing off with your C plate and pass through the Cuttlebug. I suspect this would work on the Big Shot also, but you may have to play around with the sandwich a bit!!.. Who said don't play with your food?!!And look what you get!!!I then turned the silhouette shape over and embossed it in the other direction and cut out each image using an Oval Nestabilitie... So, not only have we managed to emboss the image but reverse it also!!I then matted each of the images on to some Black Mirror card I had cut out with a Scalloped Oval Nestabilitie...Having had some new toys given to me to play with, well, "given" is a bit of an exaggeration! I thought that it was time to put them to use.. So I cut out 2 shapes using one of the dies from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three Set (S5-031) in Black Mirror card..Layering them on top of each other and off setting them slightly to create, well I'm not quite sure what shape it is, but I was interested to see a heart shape form at the top, bottom and on each side of the image!!I then applied one of the silhouette shapes to it. The other one I will use for another project.. I'm not quite sure that it works as the scallops obscure some of the fret work for the Tags, perhaps a smaller image would work better in future. But I do like the detail that is created around the silhouette..I punched a strip of Black Mirror card using the border punch from the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Set Vintage Lace (M42-60040).This was applied to the centre of a White base card with the silhouette image applied on top...I finished the project off with a simple peel off sentiment...Simple and elegant me thinks...

What a day!!!!

Hi Everyone. Well, the most anticipated Royal Wedding for decades has come and gone.. Was it worth waiting for? You bet your socks it was!!! If ever there seemed a perfect Wedding, then that was it I think!! Even the notorious British Weather was on side!! Which is saying something for April!!And did they? Yes they did!! Twice!!
The future of the British Monarchy looks is very safe hands..
Today I wanted to share with you my last 40th Birthday Sample... Having made this one and having no more time to make anymore before the party I have made my decision on which one to give...Again, this one is very simple in it's make up but think the colour combination really makes it stand out!I punched a couple of border strips using the Martha Stewart Garden Gate Trim Deep Edger Punch in Some Red and White Polka Dot card stockadding them to a prepared Easel card. I also added some Red Gem Stones to the centre's of each flower shape.Using an image form one of the new Kanban Sassy Soho Ladies, I matted it onto some Red Mirror cardand applied it to the side panel of my Easel card.I then cut out my sentiment in the same Red and White card stock used for the base card. I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cardtridge, using the shadow function to give each element some depth.The sentiment was applied to the front of the card,but can also be seen when the side opening easel is put together...So, which one have I chosen to give this afternoon?This one....
So, once I've finished teaching today I'm off to party!!!
